Experience Community is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that provides films and information about walks and other leisure activities for disabled people and the wider community. Because different people have varying abilities we don’t say what is or isn’t accessible, we simply provide information so that you can decide if the activity is suitable for your needs. We hope that through providing the videos you can see exactly what the walk or activity has to offer. In addition to this, we also provide written information, maps, photos and links to other websites so that you can really get a grasp of what to expect.
Bearing all of this in mind, it’s important that you watch the films of the places that you’re interested in visiting and look at the other relevant information to make sure it’s going to be a good experience for you.
We’re also interested in building communities through our work, so we provide walking and activity group sessions so people can make new friends and learn from each others’ experiences. Although we’re a not-for-profit organisation, we do have to charge for these sessions as the money raised helps us maintain our work, including researching new walks and filming them for the community to share and enjoy. However, we do try to keep our charges as low as possible and the walks featured on our website start from £5.00 per person.
